Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 July 2026

1. Who we are

Smart Shelf AI is operated by Smart Shelf AI (VAT number: ESZ1177116G), located in Castelló de la Plana, Spain. For privacy questions, contact us at info@smart-shelf.ai.

2. What data we collect

  • Contact form: name, email address, company/role, category, region, integration details and message. We use this solely to respond to pilot enquiries.
  • Technical data: IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention), browser type, and pages visited. This is processed in our server logs.
  • Cookies and local storage: theme preference, cookie-consent choice, and analytics identifiers if you accept cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

3. Smart Shelf device data

The Smart Shelf camera is physically oriented to see only the product zone inside the device. It does not capture faces, people or the wider room.

On the device, vision is cropped and obfuscated to the product zone. Only encrypted, cropped product-zone frames and weight events are transmitted to our cloud for recognition. Full-room or raw frames are not stored or transmitted. Cloud-processed images are deleted after recognition; only SKU-level event metadata is retained under the retailer’s agreed retention policy.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data on the basis of your consent (contact form, cookies) and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and functional (server logs, rate limiting).

5. How long we keep data

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months or until you ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept for 30 days. Cookie-consent choices are stored in your browser until you clear them.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR / EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email info@smart-shelf.ai.

7. International transfers

Data collected through the contact form is stored on servers located in the European Economic Area. Analytics data may be processed by Google in accordance with their standard contractual clauses.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on this page.
